Dan Skuta was born and raised in the state of Michigan. And like
many of those children growing up in his state, his era and as fans of
football, Skuta enjoyed the on-the-field exploits of longtime Detroit Lions
Running Back Barry Sanders.
As a lifetime fan and follower of Sanders, Dan Skuta understands
the amazing, one-of-a-kind talent, excitement and energy he brought to the game
– the thrill he provided fans and bystanders alike every Sunday afternoon for
just over 10 seasons.
Originally from Wichita, Kansas and a product of the
Oklahoma State football program, Sanders earned Pro Bowl honors in each of his
10 years in the National Football League (NFL), was a two-time NFL Offensive
Player of the Year, and proved to be one of the most elusive runners to have
ever played the game at any level.
Seemingly in his prime, Sanders retired from the NFL in 1998,
just over 1,400 yards short of breaking the league’s all-time rushing record.
