Dan Skuta was a linebacker with the Cincinnati Bengals for four
seasons. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2009, Skuta spent the next four
years with the club—and continually proved himself worthy of sharing the
spotlight and making plays as a member of the starting roster.
During his career in Cincinnati, Dan Skuta picked up a lot in
regard to what makes the Bengals franchise truly unique.
Franchise History
Much of what sets the Bengals apart from others in the league is
its unique history, including:
- The club’s origins as a member of the American
Football League (AFL), which officially merged with the NFL in 1970.
- The franchise’s original ownership, which
included former Browns’ head coach Paul Brown (who would also serve as the
Bengals’ first head coach.
- The team’s AFC dominance in the 1980s, including two division and AFC championships.
